As National Director, my responsibilities include the developing of the business, ensuring the organisation runs efficiently and remains financially secure and ensuring quality standards and staff wellbeing are maintained effectively.
My job involves everything to do with the day to day financial and administrative running of the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of Wales. I work three days per week.
As Engagement Officer, I am responsible for ensuring that all of our affiliated clubs receive the support that they need and deserve, as well as coordinating the BGC Wales Youth Forum. I am also working on multiple E-Learning Modules that will ensure the smooth set up and running of a BGC affiliated club.
Active Inclusion Project Officer
I am the new Active Inclusion Project Officer at BGC Wales. I look after the Subway to Success Project in the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan areas. As part of this, I work with NEET young people aged 16-24 to upskill and gain access to employment.
I’m from Belgium and I’ve been volunteering for BGC Wales since September. My role is to help them with their communication strategies. It means my responsibilities are to manage social media, create newsletters, promote campaigns, and work on the website. I’m also here to help with the administration if needed.
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer I am responsible for all the youth work projects and programmes taking place at BGC Wales, overseeing youth work staff and ensuring that the voice of our dedicated volunteers is heard at various meetings within the sector in Wales.
Youth Work Manager
Working for BGC Wales has allowed me to provide support an opportunities to a wide variety of young people both locally and internationally. The future of youth work is always changing and developing and i'm very proud to be part of an orgnisation that embraces that change in order to advocate for the rights and issues that young people face.
I joined the team earlier in February 2021 and currently shadowing Shirley. I will be dealing with the day to day financial and administrative duties for BGC Wales, to provide business support to the organisation and its projects and programmes, working very closely with all staff and executive members to ensure BGC Wales runs efficiently, effectively and economically.
Active inclusion Project Officer
I am the Active Inclusion officer for Bridgend County Borough, Working with NEET young people from across Bridgend County aged 16-24 in order to provide them with skills and opportunities for employment.
As part of the EVS project I came to Cardiff as a volunteer for BGC Wales. I work hand to hand with the other European volunteer. I collaborate with communication strategies, which include lots of tasks such setting up the monthly newsletter, attending online workshops, updating the website or monitoring social media.
I am a student on placement with BGCWales. My role within the club is working on the Raise you voice project to encourage young people to vote. Occasionally I attend the youth forum with Jack.
