Roots & Borders
Young people are able to express their views and tell their individual stories. A range of topics are discussed such as how do we humanely focus on displacement and, what is identity?
Furthermore, professionals in film making and photography will lead sessions for the young people, not only as a facilitative medium but, giving them a chance to create a short film for example related to relevant topics discussed during the project.
BGC Wales has been lucky enough to take part in projects headed by the Kreisau Initiative (funded by Erasmus+) multiple times as part of cultural youth exchange. The project allows young people to take part in various intercultural activities and workshops based on migration to and within Europe and how culture shapes identity.
Young people are encouraged to take part in these activities and discuss during the workshops and film and photography sessions political and historical experiences, particularly surrounding migration.
