Safer Internet Day 2017

Safer Internet Day returned this year on the 7th February. Across the nation we saw some fabulous work to try and promote the importance of online Safety.

We at BGC took it upon ourselves to spread the message to all of our young people, by visiting youth clubs across Wales and delivering some fantastic workshops; which were engaging with young people and finding out why they believe the internet is so important within society.

In North Wales, Kevin and Chiara took to Glan Conwy Youth Club and worked with the young people to find out what they believed both the positives and negatives of using the internet were! All of them recognised the importance of keeping yourself safe online, proactively researching different ways to keep information private.

In South Wales, the message was spread further by visitting a number of our affiliated Youth Clubs, including Treharris Boys' and Girls' Club, Ton & Gelli Community Centre, as well as Ystrad Mynach Boys' and Girls' Club, who even made an amazing notice board expressing all the ways to kep safe online! Amazing work.

All participants of the days' work shops were very enthusiastic and engaging. We are positive they all learnt something new about the internet!
