StreetGames VolFest 2017
On the 23rd February 2017, Urdd Llangranog was host to StreetGames Volfest. We saw three of our volunteers from the North head down with Kevin and Chiara, and a further three from the South heading up with Paz and Jess. The day was set to be full of exciting, adventurous activities for our Volunteers to try out as a reward for all of their hard work and commitment!
On arrival, all the volunteers were assigned to groups, which would then take it in turns to try out all the activities throughout the day. First up, our group participated in go-karting and tobogganing; it's safe to say the blustery weather wasn't dampening anyone's day!
The next lot of activities included horse riding, quad biking, skiing, high ropes, archery and wall climbing! All the activities put on were brilliant and so much fun for the Volunteers to be involved in, such a great way to reward their involvement and persistent efforts.
Along with all the physical activities that were running throughout the day, the Volunteers also had the opportunity to engage in a 'Career's Event'; whereby a number of business' spoke to them informally about the opportunities they have and also gave the participants idea's for future employment.
All in all, a fantastic day which was thoroughly enjoyed by every person in attendance! A big thank you to StreetGames for organising the day, and all the staff at the Urdd for being so helpful and doing all you could to ensure a fun-filled day for everyone.
