The Essex Adventure Weekend is an exciting weekend of outdoor opportunities, evening entertainment and more! The opportunity is for young people aged 12-17. The weekend now takes place at the Essex Outdoors Mersea centre right next to the beach, hosted by our friends and partners at Essex Boys' and Girls' Clubs.
Young people always make lasting memories on the adventure weekend, whether jumping from the Leap of Faith or toasting marshmallows over a fire!
Club leaders and young people from across the BGC Wales network have had great experiences at the Essex Adventure Weekend in the past and hopefully will again in future.
Young people enjoying the activities at the 2017 Essex Adventure Weekend, when young people from Llwynipia BGC, Ystrad Mynach BGC, and the Stephens & George Centre in Dowlais took part.
We are really excited to be returning to the Essex Adventure Weekend in 2023, and there is a great opportunity for club leaders in our BGC Wales network to get involved. The Weekend runs from Friday 16th June to Sunday 18th June in 2023. This will require participants to miss 1 day of school, but we will be able to provide a letter of explanation to schools. For affiliated clubs, the cost to take part is £50 per young person, which includes transport to Essex provided by BGC Wales.
