2024 Annual General Meeting
We held our AGM on Thursday 16th January 2025, at Ystradgynlais Community Centre.
Our Chairman, Andrew Borsden, chaired a packed agenda: we heard a summary of all of BGC Wales’ activity from the past year from our CEO Grant; our Treasurer Rob Williams, alongside our Auditor, gave a financial summary; our Sports Panel leads updated us on all of the sporting activity through the year; and of course the stars of the show were our young people, Martha, Rhiannon and Lily who stood up to talk about their experiences overseas. It’s been an incredible year and our young people have achieved so much, we’re really proud of all of you!
Importantly, we also reappointed three of our Trustees who were up for nomination following retirement by rotation. Congratulations to Robert Fussell, Alan Howells and Steve Khaireh. Meet our full Board of Trustees here.
Following formalities, we also introduced to you our new online learning platform, CADEMI. This is available free of charge to club leaders and volunteers - there are hundreds of off-the-shelf courses available on a range of topics, but we here at BGC Wales have produced 4 courses which we’re really happy to share and hope you find useful:
-
Introduction to Youth Work
-
Setting up a Youth Club
-
Safeguarding Group A Wales
-
Get Ready..Get Set..Fundraise (Coming Soon)

Finally, we officially launched our WhatsApp Community group for Member Clubs. The group will allow us to quickly update you in real-time on news, offers, events and opportunities for Clubs, Leaders, Volunteers and of course young people. If you’d like to join the group please fill in the Consent Form and send it back to us at office@bgc.wales
Thank you to everyone who joined us on the night, both in person and online.
